To inspire and educate the business leaders of tomorrow

Junior Achievement of Québec

Big hopes for Quebec youth

Active in this province since 1962, Junior Achievement (JA) of Québec isn’t exactly lacking ambition. Its objective is nothing short of helping high school-level youth become the next generation of community and business leaders.

Junior Achievement of Québec is a member of JA Canada and JA Worldwide, the world’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to the financial and business education of youth and which includes more than a hundred member countries.

« JA aims to inspire young people and raise their awareness of the merits of business, to help them understand business and the economy, and to enable them to develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills. »

JA aims to inspire young people and raise their awareness of the merits of business, to help them understand business and the economy, and to enable them to develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills.

Initiating youth into entrepreneurship

High school-level education enables students to acquire and develop a number of skills and competencies. Junior Achievement of Québec promotes the development of entrepreneurial skills and provides experience in leadership through four programs: Introduction to Business, Economics for Success, More Than Money and TITAN (offered as in-school or extra-curricular programs).

This last program allows fourth- and fifth-year high school students to dive into the business world by launching and managing a real business. A team of volunteer counsellors, whether former JA participants or university or business managers, guide students in creating business plans, forming a board of directors, and manufacturing products and marketing them, as well as in computerized record-keeping. Inspiring, challenging and educational!

« These young people constantly amaze us with their leadership skills, creativity and problem-solving abilities. They make us proud and drive us to go even further to stimulate their quest for achievement as future entrepreneurs. »

— Suzanne Proulx, CEO of Junior Achievement of Québec
