For a second year running, the University Challenge Leverage Your Idea is giving students, foreign students and university graduates, aged 18 to 35 an opportunity to submit their business ideas. Last year, out of the 10 finalists, 8 went forward with their idea by creating a business.
The challenge, presented by the National Bank, Fondation Montréal Inc., in collaboration with Montréal-based Universities was established to ignite a passion towards entrepreneurship within our university communities.
"We are witnessing a tremendous blooming of entrepreneurial ideas in Montréal. This contest is thus a wonderful opportunity to introduce students to the essential skills needed for getting a startup off the ground" said Geneviève Grandbois, the Ambassadress for this year’s University Challenge and founder of Geneviève Grandbois Chocolates.
Until midnight on October 30, students, foreign students and university graduates are invited to submit their business ideas online.
Students and graduates of the following Montréal-based universities and schools are eligible to apply:
- HEC Montréal
- École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS)
- École Polytechnique
- Concordia University
- Université de Montréal
- Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM)
- McGill University
